PROJECT REFLECTION
How did you grow as a Digital Artist during this project? (Think in terms of Lighting, Framing, Editing, etc…)
I already had a bit of experience with film because my brother is pursuing that genre and going to film school. As we grew up, he taught me a lot about editing and lighting and how to use certain programs. This means that I went into this project feeling semi-confident in my skills. On thing that I didn't discuss with my brother a lot is the perspectives and camera angles when actually filming. I know the basics: close up shot, medium, full body, ETC., but I learned that there are more varieties. I learned that you should use different lenses to achieve the same resolution with different types of shots like, close up, over the shoulder, full body. After I practiced different types of shots using panning and zooming in, it came time to learn how to adjust to our program. Luckily, we want for iMovie, which is the program I am most steady with. I applied the skills I learned from my brother like stabilizing and timing to make our documentary look as best as it could with the shots we had.
How can at least four of the following Physics concepts be applied to a space settlement: circular motion, center of gravity, torque, and Newton’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd laws of motion?
In order to accomplish a successful settlement, there are certain elements that are a basic necessity. One of those is gravity. Humans need gravity in order to survive. For our settlement, we chose to stay on earth so we did not have to create artificial gravity. Going into space would require you to figure out how much torque and circular motion to make a similar amount of gravity as there is on earth: 9.8m/s^2. Without a similar amount of gravity, humans would experience problems with their muscles and bone structure eventually leading to shorter life-spans. Also, if we were to expand out species to space, we would need to consider Newton's three laws, especially the third. Newton states, "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction," this talks about the push back of objects on one another. If there is an imbalance in gravity, it will cause a push back and cause further issues.
Using evidence, please describe which of the following 21st Century Skills was your greatest strength during this project: collaboration, flexibility, communication, adaptation, critical thinking, refinement, creativity, and problem solving.
Every project that i work on, I use a very large amount of twenty first century skills. I pick up on new skills, expand on ones that I already have, or even decline in some areas. Above all, though, my greatest strength in this project was critical thinking. The skills that are required for this project all relate to critical thinking. During filming and editing, you run into a lot of mishaps and you have to quickly think of intelligent ways to push through those problems.

My greatest area of growth throughout this project was having flexibility. This is because there were certain requirements and restrictions that we were given. We were given the amazing opportunity to travel out to Arizona, this gave us the chance to fill and gather information at the Biosphere 2. But in order to do this trip, we had to complete a total of 20 hours of driving in the span of three days and two nights. Each student had to be flexible with the restricted meals and the drive as well. Along with flexibility comes the reward of the amazing trip and our documentary came out better as we had to apply creativity and problem solving with the flexibility.
